Dyson V11 Absolute - REVIEW | Best Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 2019

Join me as I upgrade my Dyson V6 to the powerful V11 Absolute testing out the sound, suction and charge time.

I chose to go for the Dyson Absolute rather than the Torque as I have more carpets than hard flooring. The Torque only comes with one main head which is better for hard floors. Whereas the Absolute has 2 main heads, one for carpets and the other for hard floors.

PROS

- Set up was simple and inside the box you do get a generous number of attachments. At the time of writing, Dyson also had an offer for an extra cleaning pack which contains an extension, a curved piece for over the top of cupboards and a mattress cleaner - this I am looking forward to.

- The V11 has a nice LCD display which has 3 power functions, eco, auto (detects the suction itself according to the surface) and boost. Eco is more powerful than my V6 on max, which was a pleasant surprise. Running this option you can get around 40-50 minutes depending on your carpet pile. Rather disappointingly, for me, the Auto mode only lasted around 20 minutes as I have a medium pile carpet. So this meant if I wanted to do a “deep clean” I’d have to run around very quickly. The boost is literally only 8-10 minutes so it’s used mostly for those hard to clean crumbs.

- The sound of the V11 compared to the V6 is MUCH nicer. It has less of a high pitch making it a lot easier to the ear.

- Another great feature that the V11 has is the HEPA filter. This ensures that clean filtered air is pushed out to the environment, so you don’t get that dusty smell as you may with other vacuums.

- Let’s just get onto the suction. This did not disappoint. I was shocked to see how much dust had been picked up despite only doing a zip around with the V6 3 days prior. It’s so refreshing to see the dust in the barrel. Dyson have also improved the disposal mechanism so you no longer have to get your hands dusty when emptying the bin.

CONS

- Boost mode is only 10 minutes.

- Auto Mode may only be up to 20 minutes depending on the carpet.

- One thing to note is that the device is heavier than the V6, this certainly takes getting used to but on the whole, it was manageable.

- Charge time is up to 4 hours for a full battery. I can usually get two cycles before having to charge up. However, for a larger place you may only be able to get one cycle.

CONCLUSION

4.5/5 stars

Do I recommend? Well If you’re looking to upgrade from one of Dyson’s early generation models I would say definitely. For me there is a night and day difference. I’m so happy with the suction and sound of this device. The only down side is the long charge time but hopefully this will be rectified in due course.

REVIEW - 4/5 Stars

I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. The number of attachments and heads that come with this is just phenomenal (compared to the couple that came with the V6). Dyson have really made a vacuum that suits everyone, there’s a head for carpet (my primary usage), hard floors, animal dander/ hair, a regular long piece, a stair piece and also a few others so it feels like value for money.

Setting it up was straight forward and as a previous Dyson user I had no issues, the tube has an extension at the bottom which allows further reach of up to around 50cm - this is great as I have a bad back and I don’t like spending a lot of time bending over (vacuuming with back straight). So I got very excited to plug it in and see the difference, as presumably this would have more umph as the power is from the mains rather than battery. And it definitely lived up to this expectation. Testing out the suction in motion appeared to be stronger than my V6 and the sound was nicer - more deeper than a whining, higher pitched noise. I love the ‘ball’ feature, it actually works, my hubby tried kicking it a few times and it kept rolling back. One other thing I like about this compared to my V6 is that it doesn’t have a filter. Recently my V6 started pulsing, where it would only suction for a few seconds then stop and re-start. I had no idea what was going on, so I went on YouTube and realised that the filter needed cleaning - did this and it started working as normal. So it’s nice this doesn’t have a filter so avoiding this issue.

My two gripes with the machine however, is the weight and bulky-ness. It is fairly heavy to lug around the house over a carpet and carrying it by hand is a bit tedious. It’s also fairly bulky compared to my V6 which is just a stick and can be stored easily, this one has to have a dedicated space, so it’s not ideal if you’re tight for space.

On the whole I am pleased with this vacuum. It gives a fresh clean of the carpets and it is easy to empty and holds more dust than its predecessors. If they could make a 'light’ version of it I would be over the moon.

Dyson AM07 Bladless Tower Fan Review | Is it worth $500?

Summer is here and what better way to cool down than with a $500 bladeless stylish super-cooling Dyson fan?

AMAZON AFFILIATE SHOP

Dyson AM07: http://amzn.to/2z0L0ey

Well in this review we share with you our top haggling tips for getting $2 off the price, our unboxing experience and a detailed comparison with other fans.

ERGONOMICS

It’s very stylish, very safe and feels premium. However, things to note, while it looks premium, it is a bit short, so it really needs to be placed on a stand to blow the air to the right areas.

COOLING

While it is branded Dyson Cool, it doesn’t actually cool the air at all.

NOISE

While it does say 60% quieter on the box, unfortunately, it’s actually quite noisy. To be useable it needs to be on at least level 3 which blew less wind and was noisier than my useless USB mini-fan. Another problem I noticed was that the noise coming out of the fan felt too artificial, rather than the whirring sound of a blade spinning, it sounded very much like a vacuum cleaner. After a week of usage my fan developed a high pitch noise, to be honest I’m not too sure if the noise was always there and my brain just tuned into it, or it was a faulty noise because my partner couldn’t hear it, but it became unbearable for me.

FUNCTIONALITY

It comes with a remote control with 10 levels adjustment, which is actually a very good range. However, the remote needs to be pointing towards the front of the fan to register, and there’s no indication of the level on the remote itself, so it’s hard to tell if the clicks are registering or not sometimes and what level they are.

PROS

+ Looks premium

+ Dyson brand name

+ Easy to clean

+ Bladeless

CONS

- Noisy

- Not cooling

- Artificial sounding

- Expensive

OVERALL

Dyson is a great brand and they back their products with a good warranty and customer support (I love my Dyson hoover). I’m going to assume the high-pitch noise I experienced was due to a faulty unit, however that aside I was still left feeling disappointed with the experience :(
