REVIEW - 4/5 Stars

I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. The number of attachments and heads that come with this is just phenomenal (compared to the couple that came with the V6). Dyson have really made a vacuum that suits everyone, there’s a head for carpet (my primary usage), hard floors, animal dander/ hair, a regular long piece, a stair piece and also a few others so it feels like value for money.

Setting it up was straight forward and as a previous Dyson user I had no issues, the tube has an extension at the bottom which allows further reach of up to around 50cm - this is great as I have a bad back and I don’t like spending a lot of time bending over (vacuuming with back straight). So I got very excited to plug it in and see the difference, as presumably this would have more umph as the power is from the mains rather than battery. And it definitely lived up to this expectation. Testing out the suction in motion appeared to be stronger than my V6 and the sound was nicer - more deeper than a whining, higher pitched noise. I love the ‘ball’ feature, it actually works, my hubby tried kicking it a few times and it kept rolling back. One other thing I like about this compared to my V6 is that it doesn’t have a filter. Recently my V6 started pulsing, where it would only suction for a few seconds then stop and re-start. I had no idea what was going on, so I went on YouTube and realised that the filter needed cleaning - did this and it started working as normal. So it’s nice this doesn’t have a filter so avoiding this issue.

My two gripes with the machine however, is the weight and bulky-ness. It is fairly heavy to lug around the house over a carpet and carrying it by hand is a bit tedious. It’s also fairly bulky compared to my V6 which is just a stick and can be stored easily, this one has to have a dedicated space, so it’s not ideal if you’re tight for space.

On the whole I am pleased with this vacuum. It gives a fresh clean of the carpets and it is easy to empty and holds more dust than its predecessors. If they could make a 'light’ version of it I would be over the moon.

REVIEW

I love it, my old GHD Platinum it would take me 40 minutes to do my hair, but with this one, it only takes me 20-30 minutes - that in itself is worth it. It also starts up faster and has slightly wider and more even blades so glides through my hair a lot better with no tugging. One more thing I really love about this one is that it comes with a 3 year warranty, which is one more year over the GHD Platinum, and I think that’s worth it, because my old GHD Platinum did stop working just on the 2 year mark (luckily GHD actually approved a warranty replacement), but I still feel safer having that extra year. Overall, it’s the best hair straightener I’ve ever owned and with the Gift Set you do get fancy hair clips and a brush for only an extra A$10, so I think it’s well worth it.

How to Make Pumpkin Pie for Beginners | Halloween Special [2/2]

Hey guys, follow me along as I make a delicious pumpkin pie from scratch. This is the full walkthrough and demonstration showing up all the steps I take, so I really hope you find it useful and get inspired to make one yourself.

RECEIPE

300g Pumpkin Flesh | 141 calories

175ml Skimmed Milk | 119 calories

2 Eggs | 156 calories

1 t. Mixed Spice | 40 calories

1 t. Cinnamon | 40 calories

Salt | 0 calories

80g Caster Sugar | 320 calories

25g Butter | 181 calories

Light Shortcrust Pastry | 736 calories

Total | 1733 calories

NOTES

tbsp = table spoon (the bigger one)

t. = tea spoon (the little one)

HEALTH TIPS

The original recipe used 140g of caster suger, to me that was a bit too much, so I reduced it to 80g which gave the pumpkin favour more space to shine through. If you’re tolerant to the aftertaste of sweetener you can try using Stevia instead to further reduce the calories. You can also experiment with cooking the pie without butter and pastry, or just do what I do and avoid eating the crust.

Both these methods combined will this down to less than 1,000 calories. YUM!

Please let me know if you have any questions and how you get along with the guide.

Wahl Lithium Blitz 3-in-1 Beard Trimmer Review

In this review we try out the Wahl Blitz 3-in-1 Beard Trimmer on a real-life stubborn beard, testing out the trimming blade, the detailer blade and the shaver blade to see various styles and techniques to see how good the Wahl truely is.

Cons
====
- With the beard trimmer, while shaving downwards felt more aggressive than shaving upwards, shaving downwards left the skin less sore.
- The shaver blade is ace, got the face side silky smooth for 2 days.
There’s no built in hair management system, so hair gets all over the place.
- The stand only fits the shaver and one blade, so you’ll have to keep the other blades floating around.
- The stand has no power integration point, so charging the unit on the stand is awkward.
- The power adapter is country specific, bizzarly this unit doesn’t use a universal socket.
- The power button is easy to accidently press whilst shaving.
- The unit cannot be used whilst charging.
- There is no nose trimming attachment, unlike the box suggests.
- The difference between the detailer shaver and the beard trimmer is vast, would be useful to get an inbetween blade.
- Expensive

Pros
====
- Beautifully built unit.
- Holds a long charge time of 240 minutes.
- Comes with various attachments.
- Loved the shaver attachment.
- 1 minute charge gets you 3 minutes use.
- Night and day difference between my previous Braun Series 3.
